Matt 25: The first lesson to learn in Stewardship is the issue of ownership. God actually owns everything. Genesis 1:1, psalm 24:1 The earth is not man's property. We are all caretakers. The original ownership of the earth and all the resources hidden in it still remains God. Haggai 2:8, psalm 50:10-11 The desire own Things outside of Gods ownership creates a lot of problems. There are some things that God desires that we touch and go. We are not expected to own other people, ourselves, children, etc. The truth is that you actually own nothing. Luke 12: 16-20 (MSG) Your harvest is not really your own, but the lords. When you fill your barn with self and not with God, you end up dead. 1 Corinthiana 6:19-20 When we claim ownership of anything that belongs to God, there is a likelyhood that you would abuse the resources made available to you. The one quality required in stewardship is faithfulness. Matt 25:21 - FAITHFULNESS. When you are faithful over a few things, God puts you over many things. 1 peter 2:7 How you treat your spouse tells a lot about your faithfulness. Genesis 39:5 - 6 Between slavery, prison and then the palace is a show of faithfulness. "The days of stagnation is over". "This season, you would be remembered for promotion" Faithfulness is a character traith .... May you be found faithful in Jesus name.
